Attached to the guest house is The CLIFF Café.

This is a self-service coffee shop on the terrace. Here you can rest during your hike or – if you are staying at the Guest House – you can sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings. Enjoy the view of the valley away from any city noise.

Enjoy coffee, tea or Arabic coffee.

The CLIFF Guest House

The general policy of “the cliff ” for the guest house:

– “the cliff”   of the guest house was equipped to be a distinct experience of the life of the ancient human in the mountain villages that are spread in the various Wilayats of the Sultanate.

– The Inn contains old rooms that have been equipped to be suitable for housing, where the guests live the experience of the old life in its details, most of which still exist so far in this village.

# Dear guests,

Pay attention to the following before booking:

  1. A four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary to reach the Al-Jurf Inn. Yor are requested to follow the sign that indicates (The Cave of Al-Maawel). Noting that the location will be send when booking. (the cliff Guest House will provide a four-wheel-drive vehicle for those who request it.)
  2. The Inn is 4.5 km away from the main street in an unpaved street, and while getting off the driver must use four-wheel with heavy gear.
  3. The Inn is approximately 450 meters away from the car park, which may spend about 15 minutes on foot. (the guest’s belongings are lowered through the cables, as chairlifts, linking the Inn and the parking).
  4. Check-in time is 13:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM.

# The guest shall abide by the instructions of the Inn in order to preserve public order, which are as follows:

  1. Maintain general calm in the place.
  2. Commitment to wear decent clothing (men and women) during the stay in the Inn.
  3. Not to touch or go to any of the village’s farms in order to prevent embarrassment.
  4. Throw the waste in its designated area.
  5. It is strictly forbidden to smoke in rooms, toilets or restrooms (Using the outdoor areas designated for this purpos.).
  6. It is strictly forbidden to bring or drink alcohol or smoke narghiles in the Inn in order to prevent embarrassment, the violation resulting from non-compliance with this pay (an amount equal to double amount of the booking for that night).
  7. Commitment to turn off the outside lights, restrooms and corridors, after ten o’clock at night (the purpose of this is for the guest to experience the old night atmosphere in the village). Noting that there will be lamps in the rooms to let the guest exit from the room to the bathroom.
  8. It is forbidden to take photographs of people in the village without permission, and in case of wanting to photograph, permission must be taken from the reception to determine the time and place.
  9. Pay attention to children during the stay.

# Room Policy:

  1. The room is equipped for two people, its price includes dinner and breakfast.
  2. An amount of 25 riyals is paid for the extra bed if it is for over the age of ten, and free of charge if it is for younger than 10 years.
  3. There is free coffee and tea in the rooms for the guest.
  4. The guest must maintain the property of the room and instruct the accompanying children to do so.
  5. Any damage caused to the room’s property and its facilities by the guest shall be compensated for that according to the value of the damaged item.

# Dinner and breakfast:

  1. Breakfast time is from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, and Dinner time is from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
  2. Breakfast and dinner will be served in the rest rooms at the time specified by the reception.

Tours

Please note that these tours should be booked and confirmed prior to your arrival.

  • Guided Cave Tour (approx. 5 hours):
    You will need gloves, dusk mouth masks, headlights. You will get dirty and you should be fit. The hike itself is challenging and the Cave is even more. Crawling and abseiling is required.
    Minimum 30 OMR for 2 person; thereafter 8 OMR p.P.
  • Abandoned Village (approx. 3-6 hours):
    Guided medium challenging hike to an old abandoned village which is at the bottom of the valley and was used during the hot summer months.
    Minimum 25 OMR for 2 person, thereafter 8 OMR p.P.
  • The Village on the Cliff (Free for guests only):
    The village on the right of The Cliff Café, is still being used by the villagers. Please do not enter when the gate is closed or you see the local women. Please ask village men for permission.
    Free for guests only.

Never leave on any of these tours alone / without a local guide. You might get lost or injured. Always take enough water and snacks with you!

Nevertheless if you see one of the villagers, you can check if you are able to arrange for the tour with him or any other member as well.

Responsibility

This Guest House has been built with the aim to be environmental friendly and sustainable. Plastic garbage will be minimized and only paper garbage bags are being used.

Please help us to keep this place clean and beautiful. Use water wisely. Do not throw any garbage or cigarette butts in the nature.
